Lasers can be extremely effective for removal of veins or other vascular lesions. The specific wavelength of light goes into the vessel and delivers it energy to cause the vessel wall to collapse. A hemangioma is a small collection of blood vessels that is very sensitive to laser therapy. A port wine stain is another very lesion that is very sensitive to laser therapy.
This procedure feels like pin pricks. Most people prefer to have some topical anesthesia. After this procedure the area may be bound by wraps depending on place and size.
